Cabot's Cabothane, Gel Clear, Crystal Clear and Danish Oil are premium quality interior clears formulated with the finest resins and oils to create remarkably smooth, workable and durable finishes. They protect interior timber surfaces, uncovering the hidden beauty of the natural grain, character and texture.

Clears can be used alone to enhance the natural beauty of the timber, or over stains to seal and protect the surface, enhancing the final result. Interior clears should not be used on timber flooring or foot-traffic areas – look to Cabot's Flooring Finishes for a suitable product. Select the appropriate water or solvent based finish to match with the water or solvent based stain used for the task.

Cabothane

Characteristics:	Highly durable, clear varnish (gloss, satin & low sheen)
Uses:	All interior woodwork, solid timber, ply, veneer or MDF
Drying time:	2 hrs touch dry /re-coat 6 hrs
Wash up:	Mineral Turps

Gloss on Jarrah	Satin on Radiata Pine

Gel Clear

Characteristics:	Non drip, ideal for vertical surfaces (gloss & satin)
Uses:	All interior woodwork, solid timber, ply, veneer or MDF
Drying time:	2 hrs touch dry /re-coat 8 hrs
Wash up:	Mineral Turps

Gloss on Western Red Cedar	Satin on Vic Ash

Handy Hints

To check if a clear polyurethane is dry enough for a 2nd coat, test by pressing your thumb into the surface for 2 seconds, then remove. If it doesn't leave an imprint, it's safe to attempt sanding before re-coat. If the paper clogs when sanding, the surface is still not dry enough to re-coat – wait and test again.

Do NOT stir Gel Clear. The semi-solid properties ensure smooth, even coverage with no drips or spatters – simple!

Crystal Clear

Characteristics:	High clarity, fast drying (gloss & satin)
Uses:	All interior woodwork, solid timber, ply, veneer or MDF
Drying time:	30 min touch dry /re-coat 3hrs
Wash up:	Water

Gloss on Jarrah	Satin on Radiata Pine

Danish Oil

Characteristics:	Abrasion resistant, soft, lustrous finish
Uses:	All interior woodwork
Drying time:	3 hrs touch dry /re-coat 8 hrs
Wash up:	Mineral Turps

Cabot's Danish Oil is a penetrating, clear oil finish that gives interior timber a permanent, soft, lustrous finish. It hardens timber, protecting against shrinking and warping, and can be used over Interior Stain. Ideal for Cedar blinds and shutters.
