Protect Surroundings

Cover all plants, bushes, glass, metal, paintwork, and any surfaces not intended for cleaning with plastic sheeting.

Prepare Timber

Hose down the timber surface to ensure it is damp before applying Cabot’s New Timber Prep.

Rinse Immediately

If Cabot’s New Timber Prep comes into contact with protected surfaces, rinse off thoroughly and immediately with clean water.

Ensure New Timber Prep is fully washed from the surface as failure to do so may result in timber discolouration under transparent or semi-transparent finishes.

Shake Well
  • Shake the contents thoroughly before use.

Apply Generously
  • Use Cabot's Deck Prep brush to apply New Timber Prep undiluted across the entire timber surface.
  • Do not spot clean.

Let It Sit
  • Leave the product on for 10–15 minutes.
  • Reapply as needed to keep the timber damp.
  • Do not allow it to dry.

Scrub
  • Scrub the surface with Cabot's Deck Prep brush.
  • Avoid using wire brushes.

Rinse

Rinse thoroughly with a garden hose or power washer on the lowest setting to prevent timber damage.

Clean While Damp
  • While the timber is still damp, clean it using Cabot's Deck Clean as per label instructions.
  • Always use Deck Clean after New Timber Prep.
