Cabot's Danish Oil is an easy to apply oil for all interior furniture, doors, windows and trim. Applying danish oil will protect your timber whilst enhance the natural grain, leaving an abrasion resistant finish.

Note: Fill nail holes, cracks and other defects with Cabot's Wood Tone Putty after applying the first coat of this product for accurate colour matching. Remove stains, dirt, wax, grease and oil with mineral turpentine. Remove any polish with a suitable polish remover.

Previously coated interior timber with highly visible scratches, imperfections or surfaces that are severely worn must be sanded prior to coating.

Sand the surface smooth using 180 - 240 grit sandpaper. Sand only in the direction of the grain. Remove all traces of sanding dust.

Remove back to bare timber using a paint stripper or sanding. Remove all traces of sanding dust.

Do not apply this product if the temperature is below 10°C or above 35°C.

Stir Thoroughly
  • Use a broad, flat paddle to stir the product thoroughly before and during use to ensure even consistency.

Apply First Coat
  • Apply a full, even coat using a brush, roller, or rag.

Allow to Dry
  • Let the first coat dry for 8 hours.

Sand Between Coats
  • Lightly sand the surface with 240 grit sandpaper.
  • Make sure to remove all sanding dust before proceeding.

Apply Second Coat
  • Use the same method as above.

Build a Higher Sheen Finish
  • Apply another coat of Danish Oil if required.
  • Allow 8 hours drying time between coats.
  • Lightly sand between coats using 240 grit sandpaper.

When the finish appears tired or dull, it's time for a re-coat.

Clean the Surface
  • Use Cabot's Floor Clean, following the label instructions, to thoroughly clean the surface.

Sand Lightly
  • Lightly sand the surface with 240 grit sandpaper.
  • Remove all traces of sanding dust before proceeding.

Apply
  • Apply 1–2 coats of Cabot's Danish Oil, following the label instructions for best results.
