Cabot’s Celebrating National Tree Day!

As the official sponsor of Planet Ark's Seedling Bank, we have donated 10,000 seedlings that were planted by community groups and schools around Australia for National Tree Day. Taking part in tree planting activities across the country, our team, together with family and friends, planted over 2,000 additional seedlings to support the program.

At Cabot’s, we’d like to thank participants across Australia for their support on National Tree Day 31st of July 2022. Founded in 1996 by Planet Ark, this day each year is an important reminder that we must act and inspire others to make small changes that positively impact our shared home through tree planting and natural care.

Why we plant trees

Trees and forests are a crucial part of our planet’s ecosystems. A single tree absorbs around 25kg of CO2 per year. Once fully grown, Cabot’s total 10,000 seedling donations have the potential to absorb 250,000 kg of CO2 a year! 

Also, trees form homes for our abundant native fauna and florals; they purify our air and water by absorbing pollution and stabilising soils. They have tremendous value for our environment and our wellbeing. 

Besides enriching our lives, they form beautiful parts of our homes. Responsibly sourced timber is the world’s most sustainable building material and the only mainstream renewable source. It stores carbon and, when sourced responsibly, is infinitely available. The natural material has the ultimate extendable lifecycle with proper maintenance and protective coatings.
